Privacy Policy
We collect only what we need to match students with opportunities safely, and we never sell personal information.
What we collect
- Account details: name, email, and birthday (used only for age rules and never shown to anyone).
- Student details: school level, career interests, ZIP code, and what you're looking for.
- For people who help students: role, specialty, workplace, and verification details such as an NPI number or work email (seen only by our team).
- For students under 18: a parent or guardian's email and their approval.
- Requests, messages, and mentoring sessions you create on MedLink.
Who can see what
- Verified mentors and listings are public. Student information is never public.
- A host sees a student's details only after that student sends them a request.
- Messages are visible to the people in the conversation, the student's parent or guardian, and our safety team.
- In chats with students under 18, phone numbers, emails, social media handles and most links are hidden automatically.
Services we use
Hosting and database (Vercel, Supabase), email (Resend), payments (Stripe), and AI tools that help draft listings and flag unsafe messages for human review (Anthropic). Each receives only what it needs to do its job.
Children's privacy
We don't allow accounts for anyone under 13. If someone under 13 tries to sign up, we delete their account and its information immediately. Parents and guardians can review their student's activity and turn approval off at any time.
